Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
