Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

David Walliams

Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions directed at young women.

The publisher did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
