A man from Australia who vaulted over a barricade and grabbed actress Ariana Grande has been deported and banned from Singapore.

The man, aged 26, was handed a penalty to nine days in detention for being a public nuisance and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority stated to news outlets.

Wen pushed past photographers and rushed toward the actress and singer, who was participating in the regional launch for the film on November 13. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

He has a background of interrupting performances and high-profile gatherings, including leaping onto the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in this summer.

The occurrence sparked outrage in Singapore, with numerous people saying he of re-traumatising Grande.

The pop star has mentioned suffering from PTSD after a terrorist bombing at her concert in the English city in May 2017 killed over twenty people and injured hundreds.

In the legal process, the judge was informed he had made efforts to breach on the red carpet event on two occasions, according to regional reports.

He then made a follow-up try to breach security. Event security prevented him and pinned him down.

He then uploaded video clips expressing gratitude to the star for letting him on the carpet and said he was "at liberty."

Law enforcement arrested him the following day and charged him with disorderly conduct, to which the man admitted guilt.

The Presiding Judge the magistrate was quoted by a news outlet as stating that he was looking for publicity, noting that he was incorrect to believe he would not experience repercussions.

Grande has not spoken about the incident.

Erivo mentioned the incident to the press, stating that she "just wanted to ensure my co-star was protected."

"I believe he didn't intend us harm, but you can't predict with such situations, and I aimed to make sure that she was alright. That was my immediate response," she commented.
