Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
An aircraft transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the jet's front window, per an official statement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Pete Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson stated in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to Brussels at the time.
This incident does not mark the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet transporting a senior official has suffered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to return to Washington after encountering a technical issue.
